Plastic Surgery Testimonial. I Saved Money and My Mind!

I needed Plastic Surgery…

This is my story!

I needed plastic surgery for quite a while. I’m 40 years old (female) and have two children. I’ve been happily married for nearly 20 years. I work, I have great friends, my husband has always been my best friend and other than some minor craziness from my children, life couldn’t be better.

There is a glitch…

I really don’t like the way I look. My husband doesn’t complain. I don’t get insults from young children, but it’s always been hard for me to look in the mirror. I will get out of the shower and put my robe on right away. Bathing suits are a nightmare. I don’t feel as sexy as I should. I just don’t like the way my body looks.

When I was a younger woman, I didn’t fret as much about my body, but now after two children, a few extra pounds and less time to exercise; it’s taken enough of a toll on me that I became increasingly interested in having some cosmetic surgery procedures.

Now the fun part…NOT!!!

Looking for a plastic surgeon! The first thing I did was ask a few friends. Whom would they recommend? I made two appointments with local surgeons in my home town. The first Doctor made me wait and wait. Finally, I was called into his office for the examination. I did feel a little intimidated. I was not with my husband. I wanted this very badly, I was worried about the cost, but I had enough nervous excitement to light up a large room. The Doctor came in the room. He was obviously very busy. He practically didn’t even look me in the eyes. I told him a little bit of my story, but I felt rushed. The Doctor finished the examination, said thank you and sent in the nurse. To be quite honest, I was shocked when I was told that a Breast Augmentation with a lift, a Tummy Tuck with Liposuction on my Love Handles would cost nearly $14,000.00. I knew it would be thousands of dollars, but I didn’t expect that.

I went to Doctor Number 2…

Short story… Doctor number two wanted even more money than Doctor Number 1. I will say that he did seem to be a bit nicer than the other Doctor. This was not affordable at all.

I looked into some other companies whom will finance the procedure if you put half the money down, but I had to choose from their network of Doctors and the cost of the procedures were still very expensive. Also, I would have to make a payment on the financing for the next 3-5 years.

I did feel discouraged. I just figured I would start to put some money aside and start saving up. We all know how hard that can be. My husband said to just do it. We would make the payments. He didn’t care; he wanted me to be happy. But, as most women will tell you… It is always hard for a woman to put her needs before her families. The children needed clothes and our car was screaming for repairs.

I’m on the line in the Bank…

So here I am, on line at the bank. I decided to go into the bank rather than using the drive thru. Two women in front of me we talking about a mutual friend who just had a tummy tuck and breast augmentation. I usually try to not eavesdrop, but in this case you can’t really blame me. I learned a very certain truth that day in the bank. I learned that surgeries take place all around the world. When a person in England or France wants there hip replaced or liposuction they don’t come to the USA. They have the procedure in their own Country. I listened to the woman talk about how great their friend looks. Please understand, I’ve heard woman talk like this before. This time is was a little different. I was looking for the same procedures. Here is the shocking part! The price she paid was half of the price quote I received from the first Doctor and nearly 65% less then Doctor Number 2.

Where did this woman go?

Typically, I would never push myself into someone else’s conversation. But, I needed to know where this woman went for all these procedures at a fraction of the cost. I thought if I listened a little more I would have the answer or maybe even a clue. Luck would have it on this particular day all the Bank Tellers were working and the line at the bank was moving really fast. Soon the two ladies in front of me would be gone and I may not ever now how to make goal of having a Tummy Tuck and Breast Augmentation a reality. So, I’ll tell you what I did… I JUST ASKED THEM!!!

AGAIN… Where did this woman go?

The woman left the United States and went to the Dominican Republic to have the procedures done. I will admit at first I thought “now I see why” but then I remembered seeing a few stories about it on the television. I wanted to know exactly where she went. I figured it’s better to have a recommendation from an actual person rather than from a News story that I couldn’t remember all the particulars about. How would I find out exactly where this woman went for her procedures? I’ll tell you what I did… I JUST ASKED THEM!!!

How many times! Where did this woman go?

The woman used a company call Global Medical Service. Global Medical Service is based out of the United States. They are a United States Corporation. I went to their web site www.globalsurgerycenter.com. I read through the site and called the toll free telephone number. 888-905-8825. I was connected to a personal Care manager. My Personal Care Manager at Global Medical Service was Larry Sam. We literally connected on a comfort level right away. When I called my husband was in the room to ask any questions that I may have forgotten to ask. Larry and I spoke for nearly 30 minutes. We went over my medical background. We discussed which procedures would be the best for my situation; we talked about the Doctor, the Hospital, and how the “all inclusive plastic surgery package” works.

I can bore you with the details…

Hey, you’ve been patient enough with me so far, so I don’t want to bore you too much more. I will tell you that the price was less than half the cost of the quotes I received in the United States. I can also tell you that my package included a multiple night Hospital Stay and a beautifully relaxing Resort Stay. What also impressed me was the quality of the care I received and how modern and clean the Hospital is. And yes, I did say Hospital. I really liked that I was not in a little clinic.

My final thoughts…

I thought I was out of luck. I thought I would have to wait a really long time because the cost in the USA was just out of my price range or I would have to finance the procedure and go in way over my head. I never thought that I could receive better quality care and a higher level of service than I received. Global Medical Service also included all the extras. I never put my hand in my pocket again from the time I landed in the Dominican Republic.

I feel great. I look great and I’ve noticed that my husband is starting to flirt with me again. Let’s just say I am definitely smiling a lot more now.

I wish you all the best of luck in you pursuit and I will recommend www.globalsurgerycenter.com with all my heart. Thank you Larry sooooo much!!

OK, one more thought!

A few weeks after I returned home, a bunch of woman started asking me about my experience. I sent them to Larry. They called him and scheduled their procedures. Not too long after, I started receiving money (checks) in the mail from Global Medical Service. I didn’t even know that I would receive a referral fee. I was just a happy customer whom wanted to share her story with some friends and neighbors.

Can you believe that I am actually sending more than a dozen people monthly to Global Medical Service now. I get paid on each one. Who would have thought that something that started out so innocently would turn into something that my entire family would come to benefit from. The extra money into my home has made all our lives much, much easier.

If only the two ladies in the bank knew. I hope they read this letter. I would love to thank them!!!!!!!!

Top Ten Most Commonly Asked Questions About Plastic Surgery

August 28th, 2009

Not an office hour session passes in my practice that I am not asked about laser surgery. Due to widespread media coverage, lasers are now thought of by many people as the best way for surgeons to cut tissue during surgery. Unfortunately, this is a misconception. For most operations, traditional cutting methods provide better control for the surgeon and more precise and smaller scars.

Okay, here are several questions women asks regarding plastic surgery.

Will it hurt?

During the procedure, you’re comfortable and feel no pain. After surgery, pain and discomfort can usually be controlled with medication and subsides in a matter of days.

How soon can I get back to work?

It depends on the procedure and your job. Most plastic surgery patients are back to work in 7 to 10 days.

Will everyone know?

Usually not. Good plastic surgery doesn’t leave you looking plastic. It enhances your looks naturally, the improvement is often attributed to a vacation, new diet, or exercise regime.

How long will it last?

Rejuvenation procedures can’t stop the clock, but they can rest it. The benefits from a facelift, forehead lift, facial peel, and eyelid surgery can last 5 to 15 years. Alteration procedures that reshape or correct an imbalance such as surgery of the nose, chin augmentation, breast augmentation, and breast reduction offer permanent benefits that last a life time.

Will there be scars?

Yes. Will they be noticeable? Probably not. Plastic surgeons make every effort to minimize scars and hide them in natural lines and creases. For the majority of procedures, scars fade over time, becoming barely noticeable.

How long does it take?

Not as long as you would think. Most procedures are performed as an outpatient, require no overnight stay, and take only a few hours.

Is it expensive?

Not really. Unlike most things, the prices of plastic surgery have gone down over the years while the quality has gone up. In fact, almost half of the people undergoing plastic surgery make less than $25,000 a year.

Will insurance cover it?

Usually not. But there are occasionally exceptions when a procedure is medically necessary. Often this involves coverage for a portion of the expenses.

Can I finance it?

In most cases, yes. Financing is now a readily available accepted form of payment. Low monthly payments virtually make every procedure instantly affordable.

What do I do next?

A consultation with a qualified surgeon is a quick, easy, no obligation way to find out what plastic surgery can do for you.
